umbrelOS is designed for Umbrel Home and Umbrel Pro, but it can also be installed on most amd64 hardware — mini PCs, desktops, laptops, or servers with a 64-bit Intel or AMD processor. Some features are unavailable on DIY hardware — see Umbrel Home & Pro vs. DIY for details.

- Once installation is complete, power off the device.
- Remove the USB stick, display, and keyboard.
- Make sure the USB stick is removed and ethernet is connected.
- Power on the device.
